Who I need!

While commuting to work every  morning, I try to make a habit of reading just to kick start my brain. On this fine morning, I was inspired by Richard Branson in his autobiography, were he described his business partner as being ' a counterbalance; compensating for his weaknesses and working off his strengths.'

Likewise, I believe this is a perfect description of the people one needs in their life. Sometimes you just need someone who will look past your weaknesses and make things work so long. And in other instances, we require someone who can and will get you back on track, someone who acknowledges your strengths and appreciates them but still has the heart to point where you are faltering.

We tend to value those who praise us, and shun those who criticise our efforts. But in this life if you can get hold of someone who will praise you when you've done well, encourage you when you are losing momentum and discipline you when you are losing it... for me I believe those are the kind of people I have room for in my life.

It's imperative to be this 'person' for others too. The counterbalance that they need. To compensate for others' weaknesses and  to work-off their strengths.
